"Growing up, my family was always a hands on do it yourself kind of home. Whether it was improving my tree fort, building a dam in the creek, or constructing our own home, as long as I can remember I’ve been around building in some way shape or form.
During college I spent summers hanging and finishing drywall on Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. These homes were often large expansive homes with two and three story cathedral ceilings, curved staircases, and tedious detailing. My friends in college learned of my ‘talents’ and quickly I found myself building lofts, bars, and shelving. My work grew into framing, painting, interior trim, exterior trim, tile, roofing, hardwood flooring, electrical, structural, and numerous other types of miscellaneous ‘punch’ work.
Schooling led to the environmental industry where I soon transitioned into the engineering side. It was only fitting that I should fall into a design and building approach. There I managed the design, build, and oversight of stationary as well as mobile remediation equipment. These sites had been contaminated by petroleum and it was my job to employ a method of cleaning it up.
In 2001, I began renovating homes in Chantilly. The area is a quaint and inviting part of Charlotte: filled with history, pleasant neighbors, and unique architecture. From that first Chantilly home it grew to more elaborate additions, custom builds, larger, and more challenging projects. Within a short period of time, projects ranged throughout Charlotte and as far as Lake Wylie.
Some days I find myself standing in front of a finished project taking in the accomplishment of it all. The development of Stirling has allowed the pursuit of a rewarding career filled with challenges, a means of expression, and an outlet for creativity. Building for Stirling is about seeing the ideas come to life. With hard work and satisfied clients, I’m confident in the years ahead for Stirling."
